Advice for Hard Times (This Too Shall Pass)

Life is not Always Sunshines and Rainbows; it is a very tough place.

A King asked his courtiers to make him a pendant. It must have two sentences on either side of the pendant.

One to help him when he is going through tough times in life, and one for all the good days he may see throughout his rule.

The courtiers were puzzled to what should be written on the pendant. They pondered over this problem for a while. Two weeks later they returned with a magnificent gold box.

The King opened the box to find a small pendant. It said, on one side it said, “This too shall pass”. He clenched the pendant hard and pressed it against his chest as his lips slowly repeated, “This too shall pass, this too shall pass…..”.

After a while, he turned the pendant in the hope of finding something different. To his surprise, on the other side it said, “This shall pass too.”

One should always remember that life is full of ups and downs. When in a state of misery, one should always remember that it shall pass shortly.

In the times of pleasure and pride, one must be grateful to what he has accomplished and remember that this too shall pass. Nothing is forever; hence one must practice gratitude and thankfulness.
