Welcome to an era of fake advertisements and scamming! (Pediasure and other NUTRITIONAL drinks)

Where fake promises and claims coupled with exploitation of insecurity are justified, legal and ethical. And business is no longer controlled by the law.

Ah, the good old ads of Horlicks and Complan. Well, to some extent they were justified but the new Pediasure, what the hell, where it says, “visible growth in 90 days.”. Now to everyone naive around here, a child is obvious to show visible growth in 90 days because he is a CHILD. He WILL show visible growth in 90 days. Companies use this as a slogan to advertise their products. But even if the child doesn’t take pediasure, it will not hamper its growth because the child is supposed to grow at this stage and the growth WILL be visible! These companies portray as if you don’t feed them our products, they will NOT grow. This is an unethical advertisement strategy and exploits a common man’s fear of about his child’s development.

Even though it is a supplement, they never advertise it that way! They advertise it as if it’s a need.

Have a look at its ingredients:

“Water, Sugar, Corn Maltodextrin, Milk Protein Concentrate, High Oleic, Safflower Oil, Canola Oil, Soy Protein Isolate. Less than 0.5% of the Following: Short-Chain, Fructooligosaccharides, Natural & Artificial Flavor, Cellulose Gel, Potassium Chloride, Magnesium, Phosphate, Potassium Citrate, Calcium Phosphate, Tuna Oil, Calcium Carbonate, Potassium, Phosphate, Salt, Cellulose Gum, Choline Chloride, Ascorbic Acid, Soy Lecithin, Monoglycerides, Potassium Hydroxide, m-Inositol, Carrageenan, Taurine, Ferrous Sulfate, dl-Alpha-Tocopheryl, Acetate, L-Carnitine, Zinc Sulfate, Calcium Pantothenate, Niacinamide, Manganese Sulfate, Thiamine Chloride Hydrochloride, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin, Lutein, Cupric Sulfate, Vitamin A Palmitate, Folic Acid, Chromium Chloride, Biotin, Potassium Iodide, Sodium Selenate, Sodium Molybdate, Phylloquinone, Vitamin D3, and Cyanocobalamin.”

btw if you think what Maltodextrin is, read this.

Maltodextrin is a type of carbohydrate, but it undergoes intense processing. It comes in the form of a white powder from rice, corn, wheat, or potato starch. Its makers first cook it, then add acids or to break it down some more. The final product is a water-soluble white powder with a neutral taste. The powder is used as an additive in the foods above to replace sugar and improve their texture, shelf life, and taste.

And the fun part is, 1kg pack costs around 1,340 INR or 16.33 USD. With main ingredients being sugar, water and corn starch! (Really?)

I would rather feed my kid protein powder and whey protein instead of this bullshit!

And its primary ingredients are not even malt or whey! They then bribe the doctors to recommend it to parents, and as parents have to OBEY the doctor because they can do everything for their child! (How sweet, something they make use of!)

Their pricing is not justified either! Just look at what they use and then just look at what they charge for it! This is all a result of overhyping and false advertising. Fun fact is that the government doesn’t give a fuck either! Nice!

Peace out
