Wikipedia is wrong and lying to everyone. A big EXPOSE for the digital encyclopedia.

Wikipedia co-founder: I no longer trust the website I created

do not use Wikipedia for references it!

has a very high leftist bias do not fund Wikipedia

I agree. Wikipedia is by no means is a reliable source of information. It is highly biased especially when it comes to India and Right wing.

it is entirely it is to a very great extent inaccurate; I have seen this on many occasions myself, so I agree with it.

if you’ve ever been in a class that required you to write research paper within the last 15 years it’s practically guaranteed at some point that your teacher said don’t use Wikipedia none of the information on there is credible but if that’s true then how can we understand?

Well, the co-founder said that so maybe he is not crazy right?

here’s my observations!

There are serious problems with the political parts of Wikipedia, e.g. the current wiki war China has on Taiwan.

I always used Wikipedia, but I use the Wikipedia’s reference on my references as well. I had to remake a search because one of my teachers caught me, she said “everyone can write on Wikipedia, just search for mistakes on Wikipedia and you will see that people might put misinformation there for whatever reasons.”

I also worked as a former paid shill on Wikipedia for a controversial celebrity/public figure/Biography of a Living Person. Wiki is EXTREMELY politicized, manipulated etc. We would write our own articles, to later use them as references in our Wiki page. I was paid to debate with other Wiki editors to push the narrative of my employer. It is in no way a neutral source of information, and information in Wiki articles should be considered a starting place.

Depending on the topic Wikipedia is an unreliable source. Even without considering the biased viewpoints of some of the moderators of the site, citogenesis is a problem for wikipedia.

Years ago I knew someone who worked as a researcher in an educational book publisher. Her job was to identify all statements of facts in a chapter and find two independent sources for each statement of fact from another published work. From my understanding they couldn’t use most of what would be a source on Wikipedia because you can’t trace it back to the original source.

If you read articles in few different languages, you’ll notice how biased for example history related pages in English towards US/Britain is. The same goes for any other language towards it’s native speakers. Best example is any medieval battle: Check casualties in different languages. And that’s understandable, most people edit articles in their native languages.

If it’s possible I suggest reading articles in as many languages as possible. Often most remote languages have some interesting facts no others have not to add being less influenced by censorship.

Stay safe on the internet,

Love you all,

Awokecitizen out!
