The reality of the Partner programs and 100 followers' myth.
When I initially started to make blogging content on medium. I found out that after reaching 100 followers I can apply for partner program which will yield me money. For a huge chunk of time, that was my motivation which was to be getting paid via my blogs on medium after reaching 100 followers.
Soon, I did reach the 100 followers mark and applied for partner program. It said, “we will mail you within 3 working days” it said.

The mail came one day, and it said, “you do not meet the criteria for partner program”, which was maybe because I touched 100 a day earlier and they might have reviewed it before that (as I sent the request 3 days ago). I sent that mail again with now 105 followers and the same response again, “not eligible”.
I then again worked hard, I stand at 400 followers at this very moment and have applied for the medium partner program countless times yet they just don’t seem to reply back.
I sent the last mail 15 days prior and still not response, though I got a mail suggesting, “due to a lot of requests, you application can take up to 30 days to process”, but I doubt that they will approve or not.
I also got a mail just now when I applied for medium partner program again and this time they said, “If you try to apply within 30 days, we shall not view your application”.
It's just a fake criterion to get enthusiasts involved in writing but now they can’t leave because they do have 100 followers, right?
It is like letting your efforts go in vain. It’s like a rabbit hole and as a company, they can’t possibly make profits if they went out approving every blogger with 100 followers but isn’t that also a kick on your stomach?
Love you all,
