Master the Art of Strategy: Learn to Think Like a Chess Player

And checkmate your enemy….

I am a rated chess on chess.com with a rating of 1500 and have played tournaments. I consider myself as an experienced player and have bested many opponents during my tournaments. Hence, I do have a deep knowledge of chess and am capable enough to write about this topic.

You both start with equal troops. You both have various advantages as black or white. White gives you the chance to attack first while Black gives a more observant position and stronger defense. You have the queen which is the girl you choose for life; you have rooks or your strongest brothers who you trust with your life. Bishops and Knights as your loyal subordinates and friends and an army of pawns who work for you. You have to do an opening and capitalize on your opponent’s mistakes. You have to fight with all you already have and make proper moves.

You have to plan of things far ahead in future about your moves and strategies. You always need to have a plan A and plan B and sometimes maybe even a plan C.

You can divert your opponent’s attention by keeping action high on the queenside to sneak up from the king side. You also have to sometimes sacrifice what you already have to win something you don’t have but eventually want, the Enemy King.

It is a game which is a mark of smart person. You should always be vigilant about your enemies’ movements like you stay in life. You cannot get your hand back if it gets cut off, like the rook you lose in a game.

Conversion of a pawn to queen signifies relentless determination to win, where pawn had to pass the dangerous Knights and Bishops and had to risk his entire life to become a queen. He is at the frontline and is at risk of being killed first, but it also gives him an advantage to become a queen with determination and grit.

It just tells you that even if you are born as a PAWN, you can become a QUEEN!

Sometimes you are completely obliterated by your opponent on the chess board, yet you have to play the best move possible. That just reflects in life that even if you are depressed and sad, the best move is to get up and do work!

Even if you may loose despite playing the best move most of the times, there will be that one instance where that best move will save you and turn the tide of gave making you the winner.

We are all down bad in life, but if we constantly play the best move, WE WILL eventually win.

Those were all the insights I got from playing chess for 1 year.

Love you all

Awokecitizen out.
