Let me explain what cold approaching is, in the simplest way possible.
It’s like asking the girl a question, which doesn’t have answer as YES or NO, and let her reply. This is also called as breaking the Ice and is a great starter for long conversations.
Now, I can also go up to her and throw a compliment like, “hey, you’re cute!” or “I really like your dress”, like movies and one of two things are going to happen.
Either she will go in her mind,
“ewww, that’s so cliche! he must be desperate and needy.”
and you’ll come off as needy.
OR
“what’s wrong with him! I’d rather stay away!”
and you’ll come off as needy again. (I have tried this numerous times and it doesn’t work, trust me on this!)
So, the sole best way is to ask her a question. Be genuine and try to be quick.
“What is your favorite color?”
“What is your favorite singer?”
“What are your hobbies?”
From a girl’s point of view, that just looks pure boring and makes you look like a pure dumbass. Trust me that the conversation will not last long and will leave a bitter aftertaste.
also, don’t just stand there and go, “um…. what is your favorite color?”
If you take too many pauses, it makes you look underconfident. Also look at her, not that way! but just look at her while talking!
I had an incident where I was waiting at the bus stop. There was this girl besides me waiting for the bus, I simply asked,
“Do you have any idea when the bus will come?” (Actually, I used to travel regularly, and I knew when the next bus was.)
she said, “yeah, I think it will be there after 5 mins.”
To which I asked, “do you travel regularly?” and she replied with a yes.
She then asked me where I was going, and I told her for a volleyball match.
Long story short, we had a nice talk on the bus stop and in the bus and I eventually got her number.
So, just be confident about yourself and use cold approaching and you’ll be good for life.
