Practical Steps to Boost your Confidence. (NO BS)

TLDRConfidence = Competence. If you’re competent at things, then surely, you’ll be confident. Purpose, and belief.

I am not scared to go up on a stage and spit facts! I am confident that people will surely enjoy what I have to say. Yeah, I do get sweaty palms and “what if I fuck up?” thoughts. I am also a human, but I do it anyways and sometimes we just make a big mess out of a small thought.

I am not scared to talk up to my teachers if they’re wrong, they can also be wrong right? no matter if they’re a teacher.

I don’t know how to sing yet if you ask me too, I will sing in front of the whole class.

How to do it? How to influence people with your thoughts and words, how to seem unshakably confident?

Three Simple steps:

1. CONFIDENCE = COMPETENCE

(Competence means an ability to do something successfully and efficiently)

If you know how to play chess, you can confidently say “I can beat any of you bastards!”, and that would be extremely attractive to the viewers. In contrast, let’s say you don’t know how to play chess and you say the above statement, believe me that the humiliation you will get will be enough to discourage you from ever playing chess again in your lifetime.

This is an example where competence would be equivalent to confidence.

let say you can ONLY play chess, then what?

well then you will only be confident while playing chess.

Here, you have to work hard and get knowledge of multiple different fields, Practical and Theoretical. This might sound like a chore but…. can’t help it.

2. Purpose

This might sound cliche but it’s a fact. once you have a Purpose, It brings a change in one’s mindset. I can’t particularly help you with finding your purpose because it might be way different than mine, but ask yourself this:

If I win 1 billion Dollars then what will be my next step, after enjoying as much as I can with that money, what will I do with the money that remains?

Your answer can be your purpose.

3. Belief

if you “believe” that you can’t play chess no matter how hard you try, you won’t be ever able to play well. I’ve highlighted the word believe for a reason.

Again, it may sound cliché, but it actually helps.

Repeat to yourself affirmations when in a tricky situation and most of the time, it’ll work.

When I used to play chess, I used to “believe” that I can never win without the queen.

later I realized that my limiting beliefs killed various opportunities where I could’ve easily won!

Before passing any judgmental statement, at least try this for a while.
